Liz Herrera, Executive Director
El Nido Family Centers

Liz Herrera is a first generation American of Latino heritage, who was imparted with the principle that those who enjoy success have a responsibility to give back to their communities. Ms. Herrera earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Cal State L.A. and her Master’s Degree in Social Work from UCLA. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who has spent her entire professional career of nearly 30 years with El Nido. She worked as an intern and a clinician in several of El Nido’s geographic areas and programs, before rising through the ranks to her current position of Executive Director nine years ago.

Both Ms. Hererra’s personal and work lives have kept her close to El Nido’s constituency, enabling her to take the perspective of clients in formulating programs and policy. She has been a tireless champion of the disenfranchised, those who face the challenges her family did, but without the advantages.
Liz has been a proud member of the De Miranda Foundation for over 15 years.
